Welcome to Water Meadows B&B and self catering accommodation

Water Meadows B&B and self catering accommodation is situated on the edge of Maiden Newton, a village in the heart of West Dorset’s “Hardy country” and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are only nine miles from the historic county town of Dorchester; look out for our sign on the road between Maiden Newton and Cattistock.

Set in tranquil gardens, each of our two guest rooms have a private patio area where you can truly feel “far from the madding crowd”. Maiden Newton is an ideal base to explore the area, with excellent local facilities and transport links, including buses and a railway station.

Our double and twin rooms are finished to the highest standard with en suite shower rooms, LCD television, and tea/coffee making facilities.

All rooms are non-smoking, but have patio doors leading to a private patio where guests are welcome to smoke.

We have ample off road parking and a large secure garage for bicycles or up to four motorbikes.  Water Meadows is an ideal base for motorcyclists wishing to explore the area, and we have some of Englands best biking roads on our doorstep.  As keen bikers ourselves, we are happy to provide advice, route maps, a drying area and motorcycle cleaning facilities.

A message from Jed “My owners love and welcome dogs but even I’m not allowed in the guest rooms because some people think we’re smelly.  For this reason carpets are deep cleaned after our canine guests have stayed, and small charge is made to cover costs, £5 per night (1-3 nights) or £20 per week.”

A message from Sharon, Bluebell, Grace and Naomi “Hi, we’ve been working at Water Meadows for some time now, our job is to make sure our guests get fresh free range eggs every morning. The pay isn't great, in fact it’s chicken feed, but the perks are eggcellent. With lots of room to forage for food, we like to think our eggs are the tastiest in Dorset, in fact you can’t beat them. P.S. Sorry but we do like a corny yolk.”
